Ahead of The Amara Club’s grand opening, Chicagoland’s premier workspace club, we sat down with Mara Hauser—CEO & Founder of 25N Coworking and CEO & Workplace Strategist of Workplace Studio—to talk about the vision behind this elevated workspace experience.
What got you passionate about this particular model? Why now?
We’re in a new era of work, and ‘the office’ means something different to everyone. What’s missing, especially for executives, is a space designed for both productivity and high-level connection—a place to meet with your team or entertain clients without the limitations of a traditional office or a public venue.
Work has become more social, and that’s something we leaned into. The Amara Club isn’t just about getting work done; it’s about how you do it. If you wanted to meet over dinner, you could book a private room at a fine-dining restaurant—but you wouldn’t have access to the business essentials: technology, whiteboards, etc. Here, you don’t have to choose. You can step into a private office, conduct a breakout session, host a client dinner in our boardroom-adjacent dining space, or wrap up the day with a cocktail at the bar—all without leaving the club.
How is this different from other 25N Coworking locations and the brand as we’ve known it?
Great question. The Amara Club is a distinct offering that caters to professionals seeking an elevated platform for their business presence. Why Schaumburg? What made this the right location for The Amara Club?
Schaumburg checks all the right boxes—it’s a short drive from O’Hare, right off I-90, and surrounded by great dining and shopping. We wanted to create a workspace that’s within a 15-minute drive circle of where our members live, work, and play, so they get the best of both worlds: a premium office experience without the downtown commute.
Plus, Schaumburg is a major business hub, home to Fortune 500 companies, fast-growing startups, and a massive network of professionals. The demand for a high-end, hospitality-driven workspace in the area was clear.
What excites you most about this space?
I can’t wait for people to experience it. Seeing the vision come to life—and watching others step into it—is what excites me most. The Amara Club is a unique model; it’s what I’d call the dream workspace. It’s exciting to share our vision and give people a glimpse of all the possibilities this space has to offer. Plus, it’s really just beautiful. Workplace Studio has outdone ourselves, if I may say so.
Can you share some insights into the design process?
Workplace Studio transformed what were once just executive offices into something much more dynamic—a club. We wanted the space to be versatile, welcoming a range of professionals while making everyone feel comfortable. In the common areas, we blended darker, lively colors to shift the vibe away from a traditional corporate office and create a more contemporary, vibrant space to gather. The private offices, on the other hand, are neutral by design, allowing members to bring in their own branding and personal touches. It’s about striking the right balance—professional yet stylish.
If you could sum up The Amara Club experience in one word, what would it be?
Meticulous. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to elevate your professional experience. From our personalized wine storage service in the members' lounge to the leather placemats in our dining spaces, we've considered how each element can enhance your workday and client interactions. It's this attention to detail—where every touchpoint has been carefully designed—that creates an environment where business excellence naturally flourishes.
Gotta ask – is it named after you?
(Laughing) No! The name was actually chosen by our partners. If you look up the meaning of ‘Amara’, it means ‘everlasting’, ‘grace’, and ‘eternal’. We felt it was a great fit for the space, blending timeless style with elements that spark inspiration. It’s all about creating a place where people can connect, create, and thrive in an environment that feels anything but ordinary.
What else do you want people to know about The Amara Club?
The Amara Club is located on the 11th floor while our more traditional coworking space, HuddleUp Powered by 25N Coworking, resides on the 3rd floor. HuddleUp offers meeting rooms, day offices, and event space. But The Amara Club offers an elevated experience that blends work, comfort, and community in a way that goes beyond the typical office environment. You don’t need a private office to enjoy the perks of The Amara Club. We also offer club memberships for anyone who wants access to the amenities and be a part of an executive-level community.
