25N Coworking: a product of Mara’s career.

25N Coworking isn’t wishful thinking, it’s a product of Mara’s career: early in her career, she founded her own design firm, the Hauser Group, and grew the business to manage $10M to $28.7M projects in the first 2.5 years. The Hauser Group was soon recognized as one of Inc.’s 500 fastest growing private companies in America — revenues grew from $1.5M to just under $4M in that same 2.5 year period. She built upon this success to lead an enterprise company’s real estate interior design/project management team with 300+ locations throughout North America. This involved managing an average of 44 projects annually focusing on collaborative corporate coworking facilities including engaging a Fortune 500 company to bring their multiple divisions together in a single shared office environment.

Interior design: a supporting role.

Today, Mara’s firm thrives as Workplace Studio (WPS), a multi-disciplinary interior design firm & consultancy. WPS has completed interior design projects in 48 states and 5 Canadian provinces from its headquarters in the Chicago metro area. In the past 2 years, WPS has consulted with over 40 existing coworking companies and coworking startups focused on workplace strategy, feasibility, brand, interior design, and operations. Most importantly, Workplace Studio’s evolution was crucial to Mara’s next undertaking — founding her own successful coworking space brand — and Workplace Studio continues to support 25N’s new and existing locations, from test fit design to facilities management.

Thought leadership: sharing innovations and expertise.

With this experience in hand, Mara opened 3 coworking spaces in the first 30 months of 25N Coworking’s existence. As a thought leader, Mara influences over 30 independent coworking operators as former President of the League of Extraordinary Coworking Spaces (LExC) — a reciprocal network of nearly 100 hand-picked coworking locations. Mara also serves on the Global Workspace Association (GWA) Advisory Board and has lead multiple coworking and design-related GWA panels and webinars. She is also a regular headliner at the annual GWA/NAIOP Flex Office Conference and regularly contributes to the Everything Coworking Podcast and provides educational programming through its “Start-Up School.”

A resident of Geneva, IL, Mara and her husband Randy are the proud parents of two daughters, Samantha and Emily. An active family, the Hausers and their dog enjoy vacationing in South Haven, MI whenever possible!
