Uptown will welcome a new coworking space, as 25N Coworking will call 4040 N. Central Expressway home beginning in September.
25N will occupy 18,000 square feet on the fifth floor of the building, which is located steps from Cityplace, Uptown’s DART station and near The Central development. This will be 25N’s third location in North Texas.
Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer Meagan Slavin said the plans for expansion have been simple.
“We go where community is already happening organically,” she said.
“Uptown is exactly that kind of neighborhood,” Slavin added. “The people who live and work here are building careers, growing firms, raising funding and doing meaningful work.”
25N Founder and CEO Mara Hauser, who has more than 30 years of workspace design experience, plans to create an atmosphere that feels both on brand and distinctly Uptown.
The space will include fully-furnished private offices and team suites, flexible shared desks, meeting rooms, event spaces and even a virtual golf simulator. The space will also have a hospitality element, with an onsite community team to curate weekly networking events, connect members across industries, handle meeting logistics and provide personalized service throughout the day.
Along with Artemio De La Vega’s The Central Development, Cityplace is in the midst of transforming into a residential center. Recent filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation call for 469 apartments in two new five-story buildings along North Haskell Avenue. One building will have 263 apartments and more than 314,000 square feet, while the other will have 206 apartments across 235,000 square feet.
The estimated cost of both projects is more than $98.8 million, with work scheduled to begin this December and wrap up by November 2029, according to the filings.
Both projects are within what NexPoint calls “The Apron,” which is the first phase of a broader $445 million plan to transform Cityplace into a mixed-use development including an office-to-residential conversion of the tower.
